DETAILS:
A black sedan struck a fire hydrant and a utility pole near the intersection of Haskell Ave and Plummer St.
The driver is said to have fled the scene, leaving behind his injured passenger, who was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The fire hydrant shot up water over 100 feet, covering the whole street.
The car also struck and damaged a wall at a home.
LAFD was at the crash for over an hour trying to shut off the water.
