- At approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 4th, 2026, Redwood City Police located a suspect connected to a series of violent crimes, including strangulation, robbery, and vehicle theft, at an apartment complex in Redwood City.
The suspect, who had reportedly fled from officers in the East Bay, barricaded inside the apartment, prompting a response from SWAT and crisis negotiators.
After a brief standoff, the suspect was taken into custody around 6:00 p.m. without further incident.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.

- At approximately 6:20 p.m. on April 2nd, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a major traffic collision in the 19700 block of the North Freeway in Houston.
Upon arrival, units located a crash involving a sport motorcycle and a Jeep.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on the feeder road while the Jeep was exiting a private drive when the collision occurred.
The rider was transported by EMS to Houston Northwest Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Two additional occupants in the Jeep were not transported.
Authorities reported no signs of impairment, and the crash remains under investigation. It is currently unknown if speed was a factor.

According to RSO, PIO, Lt. Vickers, At 4:53 p.m., deputies with Riverside County Sheriffs Office and Cal Fire, Riverside County, Moreno Valley offices were dispatched to the area of Pigeon Pass Road and Quail Call Drive regarding a lost hiker. With assistance from the Sheriff’s Aviation Rescue Unit, the hiker was located, hoisted from the area, and released to paramedics. The patient was uninjured, but unable to self extricate from where he was at and lost RSO RESCUE 9 helicopter used its hoist the pick up the patient and fly them to a landing zone at Shadow Mountain Park in Moreno Valley.

According to Riverside Police Department Public Information officer, Officers responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle that struck a utility pole.The preliminary investigation indicated a male driver was traveling southbound on Brockton Avenue when he appeared to suffer a medical emergency. As a result, he crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with the pole. Medical personnel initiated life-saving measures at the scene and transported the driver to RCH, where he was later pronounced deceased.
