- Heavy rain and potential for flash flooding threaten portions of the country from the Southwest to the Mid Mississippi Valley today and tonight, with the greates risk across parts of Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Isolated to scattered flash flooding remains a risk for much of the week across the same areas before shifting northeast into the Great Lakes by week’s end.
Meanwhile, the heat isn't letting up just yet in the south-central states, with temperatures topping out between 95° and 105°F, but we should finally see about a 10-degree drop by Sunday.

- There is a HIGH risk of flash flooding across portions of south-central Texas today into Wednesday.
A HIGH risk means that severe, widespread flash flooding is expected, and you may even see flooding in areas that don’t normally see it.
Additional rainfall amounts of 5-10” are expected and when considering rain that has already fallen on Monday, rainfall totals for the week could reach 20 inches in the hardest hit areas, with particular concern in the US-90 corridor west of San Antonio.
