- Melissa is Coming! Please TAKE ACTION in Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic to protect lives and property from Tropical Storm Melissa. Melissa will most likely strengthen into a Hurricane. Regardless, the amount of rain will be EXTREME.
If you live near water or on a hillside that might get a mudslide, please consider what you need to do to leave, if you can. We all have different means, so I appreciate those that have gone through a storm like this, helping those that have not.

We are now in MONITOR MODE from Anguilla through Barbados. This means we are in a high alert stage, reviewing what we need to do if we have to take action, and spreading the word about this potential system.
We may need to go into ACTION MODE in some islands by tomorrow.
Please know that I am watching this area non-stop. I value your time and resources greatly. If we need to go into ACTION MODE, I will go Island-by-Island so you know what to expect. Also, I will let you know where this is NOT going, to help reduce anxiety.
I am hoping that if this does develop, it makes a curve like we've seen several times this season. I need about 24 hours to fine-tune this forecast -- and see exactly how much of a threat this is.
