Modesto Fire Station 6 is located at 2700 Standiford Ave. and services that surrounding area. The Modesto Regional Fire Authority was a grouping of separate area fire departments. Each individual fire department will remain open but will now be known as the department's name and not be under one umbrella agency.
We met up with Modesto City Councilman John Gunderson who voted on the city's budget last night to talk with him about what these decisions mean for the future of Modesto and the Modesto Fire Department.
