- Bernard Khoury studied architecture at Rhode Island School of Design (BFA 1990/B.Arch 1991). He received a Masters in Architectural Studies from Harvard University (M.Arch 1993) and started an independent practice that same year. Over the past 15 years, his office has developed an international reputation and a significant diverse portfolio of projects both locally and abroad. Hannah Yoter is well versed in the language of acoustic music. From an early age her world was filled with songs and stories that spanned generations and genres of folk music. Hannah began playing bluegrass guitar when she was a young girl growing up in rural Hope, Alaska. The music she played took her places around the state before eventually leading her to North Carolina in early 2009. While in NC, Hannah studied the old time Appalachian music tradition and picked up old-time banjo. She also found a love of song writing while living in the Blue Ridge Mountains out side of Asheville. She traveled with multiple bands around the area before deciding to move home to Alaska in 2013. The program traces its roots to underground philosophy courses in the Soviet Union – the original “Flying University.”

Gunnar Knapp is a professor of economics at the University of Alaska Anchorage where he’s taught since 1981. Since 2013, he’s also directed the university’s Institute for Social and Economic Research.
Cliff Groh is a board member of the nonpartisan public policy organization Alaska Common Ground. He’s a writer, lawyer, and expert in Alaska’s oil tax policies who’s worked in the Department of Revenue and Alaska Legislature.

Fran Ulmer was lieutenant governor during the Tony Knowles administration. She’s a former state legislator who led the House Democrats, former Juneau mayor, and she worked for Gov. Jay Hammond as the Permanent Fund was being established. More recently, she was chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Rick Halford is a former Republican legislator who served as Senate President. He was active in the House and Senate from the 1970s through 2002. He also had oversight of the creation of the Permanent Fund’s investment strategy. More recently, he served as a leader in Gov. Walker’s transition team.

- The Juneau World Affairs Council presents "Three minutes over Germany: Smilin' Thru" with Tony Yorba. Yorba recently traveled to Germany and retraced the final fateful minutes of his father’s Oct. 14,1943, B-17 mission over the Bavarian industrial city Schweinfurt aboard the bomber Smilin' Thru. Allied casualties during the operation were exceptionally high.
Tony is the son of a California rancher who moved to Juneau in 1983 to take a job with Ackley Jensen Architects, now Jensen Yorba Lott, Inc., where he continues to work.

- In May of 2015, Scott Carrlee traveled to Costa Rica as part of a Research Abroad study trip with the International Development Doctoral Program of the University of Southern Mississippi. The trip included a stop at four indigenous territories where Carrlee and fellow researchers gained firsthand knowledge of the impact of tourism on the indigenous population through interviews and participation in indigenous-led rain forest tours.
Scott has been working for the Alaska State Museums since 2000. Prior to coming to Juneau, he held conservator positions at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, and at an archaeological excavation in Turkey. After 6 years as the Alaska State Museum's conservator, he became the Curator of Museum Services, providing technical assistance to museums and the public around Alaska.
