- Supervisor Kathryn Barger is NOT in favor of Dr. Barbara Ferrer's suggestion to shut down in person restaurants in L.A. County starting Wednesday night.
"This is punishing an industry that is bending over backwards to comply!" she said.
The county estimates only 10-15% of transmission is at restaurants, and some of those are at fast food places.
Barger said the worst spread is happening at family & friend gatherings.
Supervisor Janice Hahn expressed public support for Bargers' position, but the other three board members (Solis, Kuehl, Ridley-Thomas) have shown support for Dr. Ferrer's position.
Barger hopes the board will reconsider the restaurant order & the potential "Safer at home" order.

- Los Angeles County will begin a "non-essential" business curfew from 10PM-6AM. Places like outdoor restaurants, bars, wineries, and other spots will be forced to close at 10PM. Even during regular hours, they will be maxed out at 50% capacity.
Supervisor Janice Hahn told me: "It doesn't feel fair...I know...we're trying to prevent the next stage, which would be going back to curbside & delivery only."
If Los Angeles County is seeing 4,000 cases a day over a 5 day average, it will move back to only takeout restaurants. If it goes over 4,500 cases a day over a 5 day average, "stay at home" orders will return and all non-essential businesses will be closed.
"We know the riskiest activity is eating & drinking. Why? You're not wearing you're mask," Hahn said.

Brown agrees with President Trump that forest management is an issue, but he places the responsibility for overseeing that management at the feet of the President.
“It’s his forests, California only owns 3% of the forests… Mr. Trump is the foremost forest manager under his legal responsibility,” Brown argued. “Having said all that, what do we need to do? We need to thin forests very carefully. We need preventative fires. We need fire fighters, we need helicopters, we need planes. Unfortunately, and tragically, these fires are part of the new normal.”
