DW's David Levitz talks to Craig Unger, a journalist who has followed Trump's relations with Putin closely. More than 2,000 people have died so far in the current outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the World Health Organization warns that number could go up fast because the Bundibugyo species of Ebola, for which there is no licensed vaccine, is spreading much faster than any previous outbreak of Ebola. Professor Aileen M. Marty, who helped the WHO contain the biggest-yet outbreak of Ebola in West Africa a decade ago, says the rapid spread and high mortality rate now have less to do with the virus itself and everything to do with the conditions on the ground in Congo.

Officially, the decision was based on alleged campaign violations. Critics see something bigger: the removal of one of the last legal channels for Russians to express opposition to the war. If Yabloko was electorally weak, why was it considered dangerous enough to exclude? And why were young protesters largely permitted to protest in Moscow on Monday?

- At least 111 people are reported killed in Colombia's 7.4-magnitude earthquake, which was felt in three neighboring countries. Reporters Evelyn Schreiber and Felipe Abondano tell what it was like to experience the unusually long quake in the cities of Cali and Bogota. Professor of natural hazards Robert Weiss tells DW's David Levitz how the depth of the quake, more than 100km underground, could have impacted its impact. Colombia's earthquake comes just days after the country's new president, Abelardo de la Espriella, was signed into office — and just six weeks after more than 6,000 people were killed by twin quakes in neighboring Venezuela.

- Russia's Supreme Court has excluded the liberal Yabloko party from September's parliamentary election. Yabloko is the country's only registered party that openly opposes the war in Ukraine. The party says the allegations against it are politically motivated and has vowed to appeal. Critics argue the decision further narrows the already limited space for political dissent in Russia. We ask what this means for Russia's opposition and the upcoming vote.
