- Description
- Two local newspapers shut down every week in America. Entire counties are turning into news deserts - no watchdog, no daily paper, no one asking the tough questions. The press is the only industry named directly in the US Constitution, protected as the fourth estate to keep government accountable. So what happens when that protection has nothing left to protect?
Strong communities depend on strong local journalism. The Inland Northwest Journalism Foundation is dedicated to supporting the future of trusted, community-focused reporting across the Inland Northwest. Local journalists help residents understand what is happening in their neighborhoods, hold public institutions accountable and share the stories that shape the places we call home.
