Thompson flew to Florida, showed up at Kayla's door at 5 a.m., and carried out a brutal attack before changing into the victim's clothes, attempting to clean the scene, and fleeing back to New York. She was arrested three weeks later, convicted of first-degree murder in October 2025 after just one hour of jury deliberation, and sentenced to life without parole.
