- Life Amid Crisis in Lebanon
On the surface, Lebanon may seem normal shops, offices, bars, restaurants are open, and parties are happening. But decades of crisis have left many exhausted from poverty, instability, and war.
Amid rising tensions, many Lebanese feel pressured by Hezbollah to enter another conflict, yet most just want a normal, peaceful life.

- Within seventy-two hours of Operation Epic Fury, the joint US-Israeli strike on Iran, Tehran had retaliated across the entire Persian Gulf. Drones and missiles hit targets in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. QatarEnergy shut down parts of its LNG production, a country responsible for roughly a fifth of global liquefied natural gas production. Tanker operators halted shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude surged past levels not seen in over a year, with analysts warning of $100 (€86) per barrel if the disruption persists. On social media, the usual commentators are talking about doom and gloom. But before we surrender to panic, it is worth asking a question that very few people seem to be posing: What, precisely, is the strategic purpose of all this?

Stick-removing need not always be a debacle, so long as the dam holds: If not, a disaster results. And stick-removal from the dams of war was what President Trump promised his electors that he would never do. So too did his Vice President, JD Vance, and his case, very explicitly. Trump has broken faith with that promise, and Vance has been sidelined. So much for those promises: What now of any other Trumpian promise?

Opposition parties, not the government, are using their parliamentary time to demand scrutiny over the appointment of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as UK Trade Envoy under the government of David Cameron. MPs are calling for the release of official paperwork surrounding that appointment.
At the same time, pressure is increasing on the current government to publish documents relating to Peter Mandelson, also known as Lord Mandelson, following renewed scrutiny of his past lobbying activities and reported links to entities in China.
With questions swirling around transparency, lobbying, and past appointments, the political temperature is rising in Westminster.
Some commentators are even suggesting the fallout particularly surrounding Mandelson could pose serious political problems for Keir Starmer and his government.

Allegations surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, including questions about his role as a former UK trade envoy and claims connected to privileged information, have triggered investigations and public scrutiny. At the same time, former senior Labour figure Lord Mandelson has faced an investigation, with police gathering evidence related to his past associations and business dealings. - Five years after forecasting “The Age of Rage,” economist and strategist Michael Every returns to assess how Western politics has evolved and why the situation may be more destabilising than even he anticipated. What began as economic populism rooted in inequality and globalisation backlash has, he argues, morphed into a deeper systemic crisis: the erosion of rational policy frameworks, the collapse of technocratic governance, and the gradual “third-worldisation” of democratic politics.
In this wide-ranging conversation, Ralph and Michael examine the decline of expert-led decision-making and the re-emergence of overt ideology as the primary driver of political action. Every outlines how traditional left-right economic debates are giving way to identity, sovereignty, and security concerns and why institutions designed for stability struggle to function in an age of permanent disruption.
We also explore the concept of “reverse perestroika” in relatio...

Though very few Europeans, and not many Americans, realise it, he was completing another round of the Trump negotiating cycle. In this case, it began with dire threats to scrap the Western Alliance altogether if the Europeans and Canadians didn’t finally pull their weight, and to seize Greenland if it couldn’t be brought into the NATO security area. Trump achieved what he wanted, leaving murmurings of hurt feelings and allegations of ungentlemanly and unsuitable behaviour in the background. It was time to celebrate the new consensus and drive on. Trump’s methods are frequently abrasive and irritating, but he is effective.

During that same period, the country phased out nuclear power following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and significantly reduced coal consumption across Europe.
But here’s the key question:
If renewable capacity rose exponentially, why has total electricity output remained largely flat?
In this video, we explore:

- The shutdown of nuclear and coal plants
- The economic cost of renewable subsidies
- What this means for EV adoption, heat pumps, and electrification
- Whether the transition increased energy supply or simply replaced one system with another

For years, the leadership in Iran invested heavily in regional influence supporting actors in the Gaza Strip, backing the Hezbollah, and sustaining its alliance with the Syrian Arab Republic under Bashar al-Assad.
But what has been the cost at home?
In this discussion, we examine the argument that Tehran’s reliance on regional proxies imposed significant governance costs domestically diverting resources away from infrastructure, economic stability, and middle-class prosperity. Inflation, energy shortages, and water crises have become persistent challenges.
We also explore how Syria has functioned as a critical supply corridor for Iran’s regional strategy and why shifts in Damascus dramatically affect Tehran’s strategic posture.

This raises a critical question: if Israel (and potentially the United States) knew where Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was, was his elimination a real option and a deliberately rejected one?
In this discussion, we explore the evidence suggesting that Khamenei was located but spared, what that decision signals about Israel’s strategic calculus, and why it may point to a deeper truth: that the Islamic Republic’s deterrence posture is far weaker than it appears.

Endorsing Ventura was politically unthinkable for much of the PSD establishment; endorsing the Socialist candidate cut against the party’s centre-right identity. The result was neutrality at the leadership level even as many PSD elites, pundits, journalists, and party officials publicly backed the Socialist.

From demographics and migration to energy, industrial policy, and technology, many of the dogmas that dominated the last 20–25 years are beginning to crumble.
One of the most striking moments came from BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, who openly questioned the long-held assumption that mass migration is an economic necessity. With advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and productivity, even shrinking and ageing societies may be able to maintain — or even raise — living standards. That single admission undermines a core pillar of the globalist economic narrative.

Today’s representative democracy means you choose an entire policy package even if you only agree with parts of it. But with social media, apps, and polls, we now can ask people directly about specific issues, removing old bottlenecks in participation.
I’ve even tested this with my own followers asking them whether I should vote for Ursula von der Leyen in the European Parliament and building an app where verified citizens can influence my votes.
This isn’t just a theory; it’s a practical step toward a more participatory, direct democracy within the existing system.

- Donald Trump has always been deeply sceptical of the European Union. He sees the EU as overcentralised, underinvested in defence, and too reliant on the United States especially through NATO.
From trade imbalances to open borders, Trump’s criticism isn’t subtle or “cuddly”, but the reality is this: he’s the American president, and Europe has to deal with him.
The real problem may not be Trump himself, but Europe’s refusal especially in its media to negotiate with a leader they’re hard-wired to see as offensive or dangerous.

- Europe is not rearming: It’s a fraud

- Europe is back.
At least, that’s the message Europeans brought to Davos. Finnish President Alexander Stubb suggested Europe “unequivocally” could defend itself without America. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who recently announced the European Union will be a “military powerhouse,” talked up Europe’s independence. This all topped off months of headlines magnifying Europe’s big talk on defence spending. The problem is that none of this is true. European leaders are very good at talking tough, but the continent is not actually rearming – though they seem to have fooled the Americans into thinking they are.

- There’s no such thing as a single, “pure” core of MAGA. Trump won by uniting a broad, diverse coalition that didn’t agree on everything and never had to.
The idea that the movement was ideologically uniform is wishful thinking, not reality.

- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said the European Union has hobbled its own competitiveness through excessive regulation and bureaucracy.
Central to his message at the World Economic Forum in Davos today was a critique of the EU’s regulatory burden, which he said has crippled growth and innovation.
In a special address to global leaders, Merz called for urgent reforms, including what he termed an “emergency brake” on bureaucracy to restore Europe’s economic edge amid a rapidly shifting global order.

- The crews on board the world’s merchant fleet are the ghosts of world trade: Unseen, largely unloved and inhabiting a homeless netherworld the rest of us will never experience.
Press-ganged and shanghaied over the centuries, the lot of the modern seafarer is hardly better. When Somali pirates roamed the Red Sea and Indian Ocean, they were kidnapped for ransom and blown up by the merciless Indian Navy.
Tankers have now become collateral damage in the Ukraine war, and innocent seafarers are once again in the firing line from both sides.

- The latest events in Iran have once again exposed a familiar and uncomfortable pattern in Western politics. Women are beaten, imprisoned, killed. Protesters disappear into prisons. Theocratic authority tightens its grip. And yet, across much of the Western feminist, progressive, and left-liberal ecosystem, the response is hesitant, reserved, or simply absent.

- Why Iranians Reject the Monarchy & Theocracy | The Fight for a Democratic Iran
- Runtime

- Description
- In Iran, people are no longer looking back at the monarchy or the current theocracy; they are demanding real change. The so-called “Baby Shah,” son of the deposed Shah, lives a luxurious life with wealth from his father’s regime, yet he holds no real influence.
Iranians are united in their call for a secular, democratic republic, with a clear plan for a six-month transitional period leading to free and fair elections.
This short explains why both monarchy and theocracy are rejected, and how the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a coalition of opposition movements, is proposing a viable path forward for the country.

- This isn’t just about Russia. China, Iran, North Korea, and their allies form an anti-Western axis—and it may be starting to unravel. As global power shifts, the future of Iran, the Abraham Accords, and regional cooperation with Israel, the Gulf states, and the West could redefine Middle East geopolitics for decades to come.
In this segment, we examine the ongoing efforts to dismantle an anti-Western axis, which notably includes "russia china", Iran, and North Korea. This "geopolitics" discussion also touches upon allies like Venezuela, highlighting a significant agenda that appears to be taking shape. The analysis extends to the "international relations" between Sunnis and states such as the UAE, suggesting these will be key entities in the evolving "world politics" landscape. Stay tuned for the "latest news" on these critical developments.

- Do Iranians want their king back now? or are they fighting for something entirely different?
As Iran faces its most serious uprising in decades, a fundamental question has returned to the global spotlight: Is the future of Iran a restored monarchy, or a new democratic republic? In this episode of Interference, we explore that question with rare insight from inside the Iranian opposition.
Alex and Justin are joined by Shahin Gobadi, a senior member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), to break down what is really happening on the ground. Shahin explains why protesters across Iran are chanting “No Mullahs, No Shah” rejecting both the ruling theocracy and a return to monarchy and why he believes the idea of restoring the Shah’s son is largely a Western media narrative.
We examine reports that thousands of protesters have been killed, the role of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in suppressing dissent, an...

- In this video, we explore the Grand Bargain Theory the idea that the US. might be shifting from trying to dominate the entire globe to focusing on regional power in the Western Hemisphere. Could this mean a gradual pullback from supporting Taiwan and Ukraine, while letting Russia and China expand elsewhere?
We’re not endorsing this strategy just analyzing the emerging global dynamics and what they could mean for the future of international power.
