- In part three, we meet a Spearfish man who is taking over the country one brew at a time. According to the most recent Food and Wine magazine, serves the best pint of beer in the state. It's bottoms up at the Crow Peak Brewery in Spearfish, hundreds of cans being filled with their hoppy goodness. At least once a week, the team assembles inside this room to can. - A fire that is believed to have started at about 6:30 PM Thursday night destroyed the Prairie Rose Building in Newell and kept 75 firefighters busy for hours. It was Butte County Sheriff Fred Lamphere who put in the call to 9-1-1 after he noticed smoke behind one of the downtown buildings while on his way to a basketball game. Lamphere says the early concern for firefighters when they arrived was saving the town's Post Office on one side of the burning building, and the town's bank on the other side. He says both buildings were saved with minimal damage.
No one was hurt. Firefighters are trying to find out what may have ignited the blaze the destroyed the former Rose Bar. The building had recently been converted into a fitness center.
Newell Fire Chief Vernon Howie says all of the firefighters did a wonderful job. Howie says firefighters from Newell, Belle Fourche, Nisland, Vale, Sturgis and Fort Meade responded to the fire.

- A start up company in Rapid City is using waste materials to solve some basic problems. Black Hills FOX reporter Al Van Zee has more in the News You Choose. 2008. Dioten Engineering is using compost produced by Rapid City's waste recycling operation. Rapid City's landfill produces hundreds of tons of compost every year. It's made from waste materials like brush and discarded wood. Dioten Engineering uses the compost to make what's called compost socks or tubes that can stop erosion in ditches, in gardens, and around new construction and landscaping sites.
