- Anthony "Tony" Knowles enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1962 and served in the 82nd Airborne Division; he volunteered to serve in Vietnam from 1964 to 1965 where he worked as an Intelligence Advisor.
Tony Knowles later served in the Anchorage Assembly from 1975 to 1979 and was elected mayor of Anchorage from 1981 to 1987. He then went on to become the seventh Governor of Alaska from December 1994 to December 2002.

- Dale Tran was a philanthropist and entrepreneur in Anchorage. Dale was a force in the community, inspiring all those he met and impacting the public through his work, boundless spirit and volunteer efforts. It is estimated that he raised around $1 million for charities during Kaladi Brothers Coffee's annual New Year's Day Giving campaign.
Dale died unexpectedly in his home on the evening of Jan. 11, 2017 at the age of 42.
He spoke with Alaska Public Media in 2015 about his family's experience fleeing from Saigon in 1975, during the Vietnam War.
