The British actor-comedian faces a “significant” prison term when he is sentenced Monday, Nov. 9, Judge Joel Bennathan said. Brand had been free, but he was taken into custody after the judge rejected a bail request to let him see his kids because of the possibility he might flee.

More than a dozen flights from cities including Copenhagen, Dublin, Helsinki, Madrid, Milan and Warsaw were confirmed to have been targeted with bomb threats, most diverted to other airports for emergency landings while others landed safely at their destinations. So far inspections have not turned up hazardous or suspicious materials.

The Indiana Department of Corrections confirmed 50-year-old Jeffrey Weisheit died by lethal injection early Thursday morning at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.
The execution process started shortly after midnight on Nov. 5, IDOC said, and Weisheit was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. CST.
According to the IDOC, Weisheit had no final words and his final meal was barbecue ribs from Texas Corral and Mountain Dew.

- More than 36 years after human remains were discovered in a shallow grave in rural Fayette County, Indiana State Police say advances in DNA technology have helped investigators identify the victim and are now asking for the public's help locating his family.
Mushroom hunters found the remains on May 1, 1990, near County Road 50 West and south of County Road 650 South. Investigators were unable to identify the remains at the time.
In a release Wednesday, state police said the remains have now been positively identified as Jay Robert Williamson Bell, who was born in 1945.
ISP said identification was made thanks to efforts of the ISP Cold Case Unit, ISP Laboratory Division, genealogists and the University of Indianapolis Anthropology Department.
