Couriers rent the accounts from former deliverers who have since moved on to other work. Yle spoke to 18 couriers who said that renting an account can cost anywhere from 450 to 900 euros a month.
These deals are often arranged openly in Facebook groups for couriers. When an account is offered, dozens of people respond within minutes.

- Description
- Between 2024 and 2025, Finland's wolf population grew by nearly 50 percent.
At the EU level, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen pushed hard to lower the protective status of the wolf across the bloc after her pony was killed by one of the canines.
Last year, the European Parliament approved a measure to downgrade the wolf from strictly protected to protected.
This allowed national governments such as Finland's to manage their wolf populations how they want to — including hunting.
Yle News reporter Matthew Schilke asked Finnish MEPs in Strasbourg whether the decision to downgrade the wolf's status was the right move.

- If you plan on walking or skating on the ice in Finland, it's important to take the necessary precautions.
Ice conditions can change rapidly, so being properly prepared can save your life.
Most importantly, if you aren't sure of the conditions below your feet, don't go out on the ice.
But if you have an itch to explore the ice, sign up for the proper training and — the golden rule — never go out alone.

- Finland's unemployment rate now ranks as the highest in the EU.
While Spain and Greece have seen their once high unemployment rates drop over the past decade, Finland and Sweden have experienced the opposite trend in recent years.
The country's growing labour force partly explains how unemployment got so high.
'Torille' is a term that means to "go to the market square". After big wins in ice hockey, Eurovision, or football, people in Finland gather around market squares to celebrate. The term is also used ironically when Finland is mentioned on the world stage.

- Sarah Dzafce was stripped of her title as Miss Finland on Thursday.
Dzafce — who was crowned Miss Finland in September — found herself in the eye of a social media storm after a photograph of her making an apparent racist gesture was posted on the Jodel platform.
The picture shows Dzafce pulling her eyes into a slanted shape with her fingers, with the text underneath reading (in Finnish), "kiinalaisenkaa syömäs" — which can be roughly translated as "eating with a Chinese person".
As a result of that decision, Tara Lehtonen — who finished as runner-up to Dzafce in September — will be the new Miss Finland.
Correction 15.12.2025: Tara Lehtonen will not represent Finland in the Miss Universe competition because this year's edition already took place in November.
