VSU's Faculty Senate found that when the group of professors was abruptly fired and escorted off campus with trespass warnings in December, VSU was violating its own policy. The senate's appeals subcommittee said the 'Fired Six' should be reinstated with full back pay. Nearly four months after that recommendation, the group said nothing has changed.
As 8News reported in February, five tenured and one tenure-track faculty member were all fired from the school's agriculture department. They said they were each brought in for meetings they believed were about the restructuring of the department, but were instead told their employment would end immediately.
