"We woke up Sunday morning and I noticed that I had no use line," Wohner said.
It wasn't a storm or scheduled outage. Verizon said a main copper cable in Elkton had been cut and stolen.

Trader was staying with friends, Diana and John, on Ellicott Street where she used to live on in Churchton. The trio stayed up late Thursday night just in time for the winds to begin howling as strong storms passed through the area.
"It was midnight. I said if we don’t go to bed now, we’re going to turn into pumpkins," Trader said.
But that might have saved Trader’s life.
