- Action plans to clean up lead paint that’s been chipping off bridges, polluting local waterways, and possibly getting into homes have been submitted to the state and are currently under review by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
Last month, advocates with Blue Water Baltimore had identified three affected bridges. Now, according to MDE there are currently six.

Once passed, Maryland residents will save $150 on their energy bills next year.

- Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a disturbing Sunday morning incident in Severn; a woman told officers she woke up to a stranger sexually assaulting her in bed.
The alleged assault took place around 1:10am inside the woman's home on Old Donaldson Avenue.
“We spoke to the adult female victim who resided there," said Justin Mulcahy, a spokesman for the department, "and basically said she was asleep in her bedroom when she was awoken by an individual, a male suspect unknown to her, who was sitting on her bed, sexually assaulting her. He was touching her inappropriately. She was obviously startled, screamed.”

Forecast models suggest a few showers may develop Monday, but much of that rain may evaporate before reaching the ground due to very dry air near the surface. Winds will ramp up Monday as the front passes, with occasional gusts over 40 mph. There is also an elevated wildfire risk Monday. Vegetation has dried out from the lack of recent rainfall, and the combination of gusty winds and low humidity will make conditions more favorable for fire spread. It’s best to avoid any outdoor burning. A major warmup is expected by midweek as high pressure builds in. I’m expecting Maryland to hit 90° for the first time since September 6, 2025—that’s a stretch of 218 days!

- What started with a fire inside the garage ended after quickly destroying most of a two-story house in the 1100 block of Nichols Court in Millersville on Thursday.
“I heard firetrucks coming and I heard popping noises and to my shock to witness their home on fire was really, really emotionally very upsetting,” said Andrea MacDonald, a nearby neighbor.
Anne Arundel County Fire Captain Jennifer Macallair says the homeowner dialed 911 after discovering the fire.
