(AP) — “Star Wars” creator George Lucas called his Lucas Museum of Narrative Art a “temple to the people's art” and a project that “almost broke my will.” Seventeen years after it was first envisioned, it will be opening to the public on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The $1 billion institution in Exposition Park near his alma mater the University of Southern California has become a life's work for him and his wife and co-founder, businesswoman Mellody Hobson. Its galaxies of galleries are filled almost entirely with their own collections.

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died Sunday at 27 years old, a family representative said.
Presley Gerber, who was also a model, died Sept. 20 at a rehab facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
The death was confirmed by Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and Rande Gerber, who married in 1998.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” Jenkins said in an email Sunday night.

William Hogue was riding his motorcycle around 9 p.m. Sept. 19, 2025, when he was hit near the intersection of East 78th Street and St. Clair Avenue on Cleveland's East Side, according to police.
Police say the driver, who has yet to be identified, fled the scene after the crash.
Hogue spent about two and a half weeks in the hospital before dying from his injuries. His family and friends knew him by one of his nicknames: "Happy."
Tanya Gardner, who has a daughter with Hogue, said the past year has been difficult for his family and friends.
