Efforts to eliminate the words voters chose to strike from the state name in 2020 have been marked by delays and changes, NBC 10 News has learned.
The 1,120-square-foot wool State Room rug was ordered two years ago to replace the existing rug that contained two state seals with the old state name of “Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.”
The new rug was expected in less than a year.
Its long-delayed delivery became a secondary issue upon its installation.
