According to Scott’s campaign, Vignarajah offered his endorsement in exchange for being named to a high-profile position in the school system or the Baltimore Police Department.
Mayor Scott told C4 and Bryan Nehman Thursday morning that he did have a conversation with Vignarajah. He added that Vignarajah was interested in being the city’s police commissioner or the CEO of Baltimore City Public Schools.

WBAL’s T.J. Smith spoke with Worley Tuesday afternoon. When asked about GVRS, Worley said it’s a deterrence strategy and that it focuses on the groups that are causing the violence by getting in touch with them and offering resources.
“There’s all these service we can offer you, job training, education, IDs, whatever you need to get you out of the crime game,” Worley said. “Now, you don’t have to take the services, and that’s fine. All we want you to do is put down the guns. If you don’t take the services and don’t put down the guns, then law enforcement is the last step to come in and do the investigation.”

According to officials, she suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and is listed in critical but stable condition.
Baltimore police said the shooting began around 1:30 p.m. when two groups had an altercation in the mall. An unidentified male began running away while firing a gun, and the 7-year-old victim was struck. She was not the intended target.
"As soon as I stood up, boom, one gunshot went off, and everybody just started rushing towards the hallway and all the other exits down there. People falling over and whatnot," said one man who ran toward the gunfire but wished to remain anonymous due to safety.
