- The Vanuatu workers union had made a recent statement of acknowledgement to the national Government on the new minimum wage increase to 300vt.
Workers Union president, Mrs. Tulia R. Wanemut said workers continues to face the ongoing increase in the price of goods and services and this initiative will really help workers. She said private sectors must accept this change to allow fairness.
In response, Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce (VCCI) is not happy on their request to delay the 36% increase in the minimum wage.
VCCI president, Antoine Boudier said VCCI is not happy with this decison made by government because there is no proper consultation with the private sector.

- Some residents are still reside in evacuation centres as provision of shelther is still a big need.
After the two devastating tropical cyclones most houses where damaged and thus make it very hard for some families to rebuild. Some event raise concern over the distribution of food that they said was not fair enough.
A local at Eton village, Mr. Frank Kalsilik said it will be much better if shelter supplies should be distributed immediately to damage houses for familes to rebuild rather than the supply of more food.

- The people of Eton village in Efate had raise concern on the unlcean water source that the Community collects water supply from.
Community plummer, mr. Frank Kalsilik said that since the two cyclones had hit the country, their water supply system still work properly, quantity of water is stll maintain but is contaminated. Mr. Frank said it affects the whole Community and causes certain illness to the people.
The village authorities said a proper water supply source would be much better for the health of the people.

- An insect specialist who had recently came to Vanuatu as part an SPC project in the Pacific to carry out studies on insects after the two cyclones (Judy & Kevin) said there is possible chance for CRB numbers to increase.
As there are more trees and coconut trees being destroyed by the two cyclones, they can becoming breading areas for the beetles.
He advice that all coconut trees that had been destroyed by the cyclones must be displaced properly to stop the spread of the Coconut rhinoceros beetles.

Climate Resilient Islands is working with rural communities in Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Tuvalu and PNG to strengthen community resilience to the impacts of climate change through nature-based approaches. The director of customs and inland revenue department, mr. Harold Obed had confirm with VBTC News that all Road worthy payments will be effective again on the 1st of July 2023.

- United Nations Generl Assembly (UNGA) had ruled to support the draft resolution of Climate change and human right to the international court of justice.
The Republic of Vanuatu successfully led a global coalition
of 132 Co Sponsoring countries adopting a UNGA Resolution calling for
an Advisory Opinion on Climate Change from the International Court of Justice (ICJ)
It is a milestone and historical resolution that was supported by the Pacific University students two years ago and Vanuatu government had taken lead on it. The Vanuatu government had worked with over 15 countries to draft this climate resolution.
