- Turkish police have detained two people suspected of involvement in an attack on a bus that was carrying Fenerbahce players.
The driver was hit in the face and taken to hospital but no players were injured in the incident, which took place as the team were travelling to Trabzon Airport after a 5-1 win at Caykur Rizespor.
The governor of Trabzon, Abdil Celil Oz, said the two suspects – one aged 37 and the other 27 – were detained early on Tuesday. Both men have denied the charges against them.
The club said it would not play again until the incident was resolved and the Turkish Football Federation announced that league games would be suspended for one week.

Videos released showed 39 being rescued off coast Tekagac in the western province of Aydin. The other showed migrants waving their hands on a boat waiting to be lifted off.
It’s the latest in a long line of rescues, last year more than 12,000 were picked up in the region.
Tens of thousands of migrants try to cross into EU member Greece every year mainly via Turkey.

Skipper Ian Walker and his crew completed the 6,776 nautical mile leg from Auckland, New Zealand to Itajai, Brazil in 18 days 23 hours 30 minutes 10 seconds.
It was the team’s second win in the 12th edition of the race following their leg one triumph from Spain to South Africa.
Abu Dhabi lead the round-the-world race by seven points from Chinese syndicate Dongfeng, who failed to finish after their mast broke 200 nautical miles from Cape Horn the fifth leg.
After winning the previous leg Mapfre, skippered by Spaniard Iker Martínez, sailed across the line in second place.
They were just 32 minutes behind highlighting the tightly contested leg.
The sixth of nine legs begins on April 19 and will take the fleet from Itajai to Newport in Rhode Island.

The UN says at least 500 people have been killed in battles between forces loyal to the exiled president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Houthi rebels.
Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition of countries attempting to reinstall Hadi as president and stop the advance of the rebels.
Coalition fighter jets have been carrying out airstrikes for 11 days now.
The Houthis are allied to Iran and are fighting alongside soldiers loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The coalition is now said to control Yemen’s ports and air space, but the airstrikes do not appear to have halted the advance of the Houthis.
Witnesses say fighting continued on Monday and some reports say a foreign warship has been shelling Houthi positions.
The last bastion of those supporting exiled- president Hadi is in Aden.

The Britons include three men, two women and four children.
Turkish authorities are on alert for foreign nationals moving through the country to join ISIL militants in Syria.
It comes after British police criticised Turkish officials after three UK schoolgirls arrived in Istanbul and were then allegedly smuggled into Syria.
Turkey responded saying they were not tipped off in time to stop the girls travelling.
An estimated 600 British nationals have travelled to the region to fight, with 300 already back in the UK, according to the Metropolitan Police.

ISIL is said to be in control of some of the main streets of the camp, which currently houses up to 18-thousand people.
Fierce clashes were continuing, according to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Yarmouk has been caught between government forces and Syrian insurgent groups, including ISIL rivals such as al Qaeda’s Nusra Front.
It was once a thriving neighbourhood, home to 160-thousand Palestinian refugees and Syrians. But the fighting in recent years has forced many to flee.
Those who remain have been facing significant shortages of food, water and medicine.

- More violence is feared in Yemen as the country reels from a spate of suicide bombings.
In his first public speech since escaping house arrest and fleeing Sana’a last month, President Abed Rabbo Monsour Hadi accused the Shi’ite rebels ruling the capital of staging a coup against him.
He made a call to arms from the southern city of Aden, which he named the new temporary capital of Yemen:
“We are calling on the militants to pull out from all the ministries and government institutes. And also, to pull out of the capital Sana’a and other Yemeni cities,” he announced.
Known as Houthis, the Iranian-allied Shi’ite militia responded with its own call to arms to fight against troops loyal to the president.

- Violence in the southern Yemeni city of Aden has left at least 13 dead.
Militia loyal to the country’s former president Ali Abdullah Saleh have been locked in a fierce gun battle with government forces, after storming the international airport.
At least two shells hit the grounds and more than 100 passengers had to be rushed off a plane bound for Cairo amid the fighting.
It is the latest assault against internationally backed president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who fled from Sanaa to Aden last month.
An unidentified warplane also attacked the presidential palace in the city.
Hadi described Thursday’s violence as an “attempted coup.”
It comes as Yemen faces a deepening power struggle between the president and the Shi’ite Houthi group, which controls the capital and is allied with Saleh.

- Fifa has confirmed that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar that was originally planned to take in the summer will be moved to November and December of that year.
Football’s world governing body said the decision had been taken to protect the health of players. The recommendation was made by a Fifa task force.
“I can confirm the executive committee, based on the proposal of the task force, decided that, yes, we are going to play in November and December and, yes, the final is going to be played on December 18,” said Fifa spokesman Walter de Gregorio.
Temperatures in the Gulf state can reach and exceed 40C at the height of summer. When Qatar was awarded the tournament it was initially hoped that the games would be played in air conditioned stadiums.

- Fierce fighting has broken out between rival forces in Yemen, closing Aden’s international airport and forcing President Hadi to flee his presidential palace.
Thirteen people were killed when militia loyal to the former president stormed the airport, triggering heavy gun battles with forces loyal to the current president.
The forces loyal to the current president managed to repel the attack before two fighter planes targeted the presidential palace in Aden.
Yemeni security sources said the situation at the palace was under control and that the president had been taken to an undisclosed safe location.
The fighting is evidence of a deepening power struggle between President Hadi and the Shi’ite Houthi group which controls the capital Sanaa and is allied to former president Saleh.
