- Palestinian soccer federation President Jibril Rajoub refused to shake hands with Israel FA Vice-President Basim Sheikh Suliman in a heated moment at the FIFA Congress on Thursday.
Both men were called to the stand by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, but Rajoub declined to stand next to Basim Sheikh Suliman, an Arab citizen of Israel who represents the Israeli soccer federation.
“I cannot shake the hand of someone the Israelis have brought to whitewash their fascism and genocide! We are suffering,” Jibril Rajoub said.

- The US State Department said on Tuesday it would produce a limited number of commemorative passports bearing a portrait of President Trump.
The passports will be released as part of celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence in July, State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in a statement.
Renderings provided by the State Department showed Trump’s portrait displayed on a page inside the passport, opposite an image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
The Department of the Treasury has also announced plans for a commemorative gold coin featuring President's image to mark the anniversary of the country’s founding, and the Treasury Department has said paper currency will bear Trump’s signature.

- Hezbollah released a video on April 28 showing the moment an attack drone targeted an Israeli tank in the south Lebanon town of Qantara. Hezbollah said the strike was carried out on April 24.
The group posted the video a few hours after the Israeli army said they had uncovered, and subsequently destroyed, two underground tunnels in Qantara that they alleged were used by Hezbollah operatives.
In recent days, the group said its drones targeted Israeli soldiers, multiple military vehicles, as well as bulldozers demolishing Lebanese homes in the south of the country.
The group said the attacks were carried out in response to repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire and war crimes committed against civilians.

- California’s Democratic lawmaker Rep. Ro Khanna, co-author of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, held a roundtable on Tuesday with Jeffrey Epstein survivors and with family members of the late Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre on the same day Britain’s King Charles was in the US for a state visit.
Giuffre accused the late US financier Epstein of trafficking her to King Charles’ younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, when she was 17.
Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied the allegations and reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting wrongdoing. He has said he had no recollection of meeting Giuffre.
Khanna said he sent a request for King Charles to speak with the Epstein survivors but he declined.

- The UN Human Rights Office in Syria conducted a 5-day visit to the northeast of the country where they received accounts of human rights violations and abuses by Israel.
“We are receiving mounting protection concerns for civilians in southern Syria, where expanding operations by Israeli forces occupying these areas are placing lives at risk,” Thameen Al-Kheetan, a spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Office, told a bi-weekly press briefing in Geneva.
According to Syrian authorities, the Israeli military has arrested at least 250 people in the south of Syria, including children, since the fall of the Assad regime – 50 remain detained and some have been taken to prisons in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan.
“In the Quneitra governorate, Israeli forces have reportedly erected checkpoints, searched residential properties, and arrested and detained civilians,” Al-Kheetan added.
