While deputies were on scene, the male set his own residence on fire while remaining inside and continued firing his weapon at perceived threats that were not actually present.

- County Fire responded to a rescue near Hwy 18 and Lower Waterman Canyon in California on August 24, 2026. An adult female was located on the slope 100’ over the side of the freeway. An adult male bystander was with the victim. UAS assets were launched and provided aerial imagery of the two adults. Utilizing Brush Engine 241 from San Manuel Fire as an anchor, firefighters including USAR members constructed a low-angle rope rescue system and lowered firefighter/paramedics to the victims. The female was assessed, packaged and secured into a litter to be raised back to the highway where she was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. The Good Samaritan was unable to climb the slope on his own, so he was placed in a harness and assisted back to the road surface.

- On August 6, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Dallas Police officers responded to a robbery in progress at a business in the 3500 block of Sunnyvale Street. At approximately 10:10 a.m., officers located the stolen Porsche in the 5800 block of Williamstown Road. Uniformed officers initiated a felony traffic stop while a covert officer positioned his unmarked vehicle in front of the Porsche to prevent the suspect from leaving the area. The covert officer exited his vehicle with his department-issued handgun drawn and moved toward a nearby residential yard. Officer Celso Rocha fired four rounds toward the covert officer and suspect. Officer Rocha recognized the individual was another police officer, ceased firing, and can be heard yelling, “Blue, Blue.” The suspect then exited the stolen Porsche and surrendered without further incident.

- On August 10, 2026, the driver of a BMW using a tag assigned to a Nissan took off from an attempted traffic stop in the Daytona Beach, Florida. The driver, later identified as Jason Therrien, 39, Holly Hill, was driving recklessly, weaving in and out of traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road, running red lights, and hitting 40 mph over the speed limit in residential areas. A Volusia Sheriff's Office deputy deployed a second set of stop sticks, which Therrien hit again, and kept fleeing. His tires deteriorated but he continued speeding around blind turns in the wrong lane. At the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and Walter Boardman Lane, Therrien lost control and ran off the road, crashing into a deputy's patrol vehicle, which was parked stationary with emergency lights on.
