- Ethiopian forces hit the capital of northern Ethiopia’s Tigray region with airstrikes on Monday, according to local media.
The airstrikes injured several civilians, television controlled by the area’s Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) reported.
“Airstrike now in Mekele,” one humanitarian official in the city said via SMS to AFP on condition of anonymity, describing attacks also confirmed by a second humanitarian source, two diplomats and a rebel spokesman.
Tigrai TV indicated that the airstrikes were carried out by the forces of the Ethiopian Prime Minister “Abiy Ahmed”.

The summit tackled many topics such as illegal immigration and terrorism. The Egyptian president said that his country refused, from a moral and humanitarian perspective, to neither establish refugee camps on its territory nor allow illegal immigration to Europe.
He said that Egypt is working on establishing cooperation relationships with European institutions, pointing out that the government seeks to provide a decent life for its citizens.

The province experienced its worst flooding this month since records began, meteorological official Wang Wenyi said at a news conference Tuesday, adding the province's average rainfall in October was 13 times that of the same period in a normal year.
At least 1.75 million people have been affected by the flooding, which has caused at least 19,500 houses to collapse and seriously damaged another 18,200 homes, local emergency management official Wang Qirui said at the news conference. Three people remain missing, Wang Qirui added.

- Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) announced on Friday that the Ever Given ship, which blocked navigation through the Suez Canal for nearly a week in March, has succeeded in crossing the canal on its way back to China after unloading its cargo in the UK.
According to the statement issued by the SCA, the Ever Given vessel crossed the canal as part of a convoy coming from the north adding that the authority assigned several highly experienced transit guides to be on board and two tug boats to accompany it during its trip through the canal.

The festival includes 31 diverse concerts held under the supervision of the Artistic House of Music. The festival will be running for 16 days, starting from 15 August.
During her speech at the opening ceremony, Abdel Dayem said Abdel-Dayem said that Egypt has emphasized throughout history that it is the cradle of civilization.

- Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, TarekShawky, announced, on Tuesday, that Thanaweyya Amma (high school) graduation rate recorded 74% for academic year 2020-2021.
During a press conference, Shawky said that students with more than 90% grade will guarantee a place in high-level colleges.
The Education Minister added that students in the mathematical stream with 80% grade or higher will also guarantee a place in high-level colleges. No student got more than 95% grade in the literary stream.
Students who failed in one or more exams can retake them starting 4 September

- The Egyptian Armed Forces have neutralised 89 takfiri extremists in a military operation in the North Sinai, army spokesperson Gharib Abdel Hafiz said in a statement on Sunday.
The statement added that eight army personnel were killed or wounded in the operation.
Abdel Hafiz said, “As part of the continuous efforts to fight terrorist elements nationwide, the Armed Forces succeeded in conducting successive strikes against terrorist elements during the previous period.”
“A total of 73 automatic rifles, 140 magazines, 5,606 multi-caliber bullets, 34 radios, a drone equipped with a camera, a night vision device, a laptop, and several mobile phones were seized,” the statement added.
