- Bottled water isn't always better than tap
- Date posted

- Description
- Bottled water often feels like a “healthier” choice — but there’s a problem, particularly if it’s the only type of water you drink: plastic.
Experts estimate that people who drink only bottled water may be ingesting an additional 90,000 microplastics every year compared with around 4,000 extra particles for people who rely solely on tap water.
Instead, drink tap water with a reverse osmosis filter, says Dr. Trisha Pasricha, a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and The Washington Post’s Ask a Doctor columnist.

A University of Pittsburgh study reviewed 169 episodes of shows like NCIS: Hawaii, Yellowstone and Stranger Things, and found that TV often ignores the American Heart Association hands-only CPR guidelines. From shallow compressions to outdated rescue breaths, TV takes liberties — yet sometimes it inspires real-life action.

- Date posted

- Description
- Ahead of the NTSB's final investigation into the cause of the devastating DCA mid-air collision, a new investigation by The Washington Post suggests the bright lights of the D.C. skyline may have played a role in the crash. In this video, we take a deep dive into how light pollution in the area and the effect of night vision goggles (NVGs) may have contributed to the deadliest U.S. aviation disaster in 25 years. We found that it was very likely that the instructor pilot was paying attention to another plane that was coming in for a landing at the same time, which would have been more visible in the night sky.

The walk is a meditative tradition more common in South Asian countries, and it’s resonating now in the U.S., seemingly as a welcome respite from the conflict, trauma and politics dividing the nation. The monks say their aim is to promote mindfulness and healing and finding inner peace.
