- Death Valley, known as the driest place in North America, is teeming with life with a rare blossoming of wildflowers known as a super bloom, transforming a normally brown desert landscape into carpets of gold.
“This landscape that sometimes people think of as desolate or devoid of life is coming alive right now with this really beautiful palette of colors,” said park ranger Matthew Lamar.
Death Valley also experienced a super bloom in 2024 after record-setting precipitation.

The night before, Australia granted asylum to five members of the Iranian women’s soccer team, after a days-long operation involving federal police and other government agencies.
“We’re willing to provide assistance to other women in the team, noting that this is a very delicate situation and it is up to them," said Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. "But we say to them, if you want our help, help is here and we will provide that.”
