- Ivins officials finished this year’s Heritage Days week with a parade and celebration Saturday to honor the city’s culture and its history.
Saturday’s celebration in the city park featured games for local children, along with a live music concert, food stands and numerous vendor booths.
The parade’s grand marshal, Ivins Mayor Chris Hart, said this year’s event was extremely successful and particularly meaningful in light of his impending retirement. Written by Nick Fiala Sep 17, 2025

- Cedar City’s landmark lighthouse in Providence Center is now open for public tours, and dozens of people have already made the climb to the top.
“It's actually really common in lighthouses, called a lighthouse climb,” owner Laurie Scholzen said on Wednesday as she took two Cedar City News reporters on a tour of the 88-foot-tall structure, which was constructed in 2000.
“We opened for climbs last weekend, so Friday and Saturday,” she added. “We'll be here Fridays and Saturdays only for the month of September. After that, we'll be open only for special events, month by month, depending on how things go with UDOT and that transition.” Written by Jeff Richards
