He notes that the Port already has a presidential permit. Perez says it would be a "Smart Bridge" that would hasten container traffic arrival at the Port. Perez says this high-tech operation would include autonomous ships and trucks, with Saronic Technologies potentially building the ships at the Port of Brownsville. It helps that Matamoros has a free trade zone and Brownsville has a foreign trade zone, Perez says.
