The drills were held in response to ongoing gray zone tactics by China aimed at disrupting local fishermen and restricting access to key maritime areas.
The Penghu combat command mobilized tanks, mortars, and machine guns in the simulated scenario, designed to repel the approach of hostile vessels.
The exercise underscored Taiwan’s readiness to defend its territorial waters in the face of increasing maritime pressure from China.

This summer, Nyah was fatally shot by police in Utica, New York.

- K-pop star J-Hope, a member of the boy band supergroup BTS, was discharged from South Korea's military on Thursday (October 17) after 18 months of duty.
Wearing a uniform and a black beret, J-Hope, 30, was smiling as he was greeted by member Jin and around 100 cheering fans as well as reporters upon his release at a military base in Wonju, Gangwon province.
Hundreds of fans were waiting outside the army base to greet J-Hope in person and expressed their excitement to finally see the artist.
J-Hope is the second member of the seven-member group to wrap up the mandatory national service that has put their music careers on hold, after oldest member Jin finished his service in June.
