First picture: This is Smit Machchhar, the Indian pilot who was reportedly in command of Flydubai flight FZ1073 when his Omani co-pilot attacked him mid-air.
Reports say he was attacked by the co-pilot, who has been identified as an Omani national, more than two hours into the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight. Machchhar was injured but managed to regain control of the Boeing 737 MAX 8.
The plane, carrying about 174 passengers, sent emergency signals, dived sharply and landed safely at Tabuk in Saudi Arabia. Both pilots are in hospital. Saudi and Israeli authorities are investigating, and Flydubai has opened an internal inquiry. The airline hasn't confirmed the pilots' nationalities.

The Flydubai terror scare takes a diplomatic turn: Saudi Arabia has reportedly refused to let Israeli planes collect the passengers stranded at Tabuk.
An Israeli official told that Riyadh blocked Israeli planes from picking up the passengers of Flydubai flight FZ1073. Israel and Saudi Arabia have no diplomatic relations, and Flydubai is sending a replacement aircraft.
Ariella Rosenthal, Director of International Relations at the Ashdod Municipality, raises the big question: how was an Omani pilot allowed to fly to Israel? Israeli officials accuse Flydubai of breaching its agreement, which allows only pilots from countries with ties to Israel on the route. According to Israel Hayom, the co-pilot had been with the airline for just nine months.
