- A 58-year-old man was found deceased Wednesday evening in a north Tracy park and authorities are investigating his death as a homicide, police reported. The victim, identified by Tracy police as Steven Weber, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. He had sustained an undisclosed number of wounds caused by stabbing or a cutting instrument, according to police.
Police were dispatched just before 8 p.m. to Dr. Powers Park, 900 W. Lowell Ave. west of North Tracy Boulevard, after receiving a call of someone injured at that location. Weber was found in the middle of the park on a lawn next to a parking lot east of the swimming pool and south of a restroom building. Police said Weber traveled for work, but they did not provide information on why he may have been in the park at that time.
