She was detained in Feb. 2022 and was released in Dec. 2022 in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.
"There's there's no doubt in my mind that once they knew who I was and they had me, that I was being held," Griner told Nawaz. "I didn't feel like my life was mine. It was in someone else's hands. It was in other people's hands. It's a feeling that I never want to feel ever again.

- WATCH: Americans need to see vote on Speaker Johnson, Rep. Taylor Greene says
- Date posted
- Description
- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene vowed on Wednesday to bring a motion to remove her fellow Republican Mike Johnson from the House speakership, a situation where he might have to rely on the votes of Democrats to stay in power.
“I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote and let the chips fall where they may,” Taylor Greene told reporters at a news conference.
Taylor Greene speculated that Democrats who voted for Johnson would face consequences from their constituents for their support of a Republican during the November elections.
“I can’t wait to see Democrats go out and support a Republican speaker," she said, adding, "I think that’ll play well, I'm excited about it."
Johnson was elected speaker by House Republicans in October after a contentious process that began with the removal of his predecessor, Rep. Kevin McCarthy. This week, House Democrats promised to give Johnson votes to remain speaker, arguing that rem...

- Date posted

- Description
- Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for about 25 percent of all disease in the world, yet it has just three percent of the healthcare workforce. Fred de Sam Lazaro reports on one effort to educate African providers who will stay and serve. It's part of his series, Agents for Change.

- Why many universities are rejecting protester calls for divestment from Israel
- Date posted
