Hundreds of students and music lovers were packed inside a California college bar when a gunman opened fire late Wednesday night, killing a police officer and at least 11 others.
The gunman, who has not been identified, threw three smoke bombs before unleashing a torrent of bullets inside the Borderline Bar and Grill just after 11 p.m. The bar was hosting a weekly “College Country” night, according to the bar’s website.

When Donald Trump was elected in 2016, Brooklyn artist Jonathan Allen was unable to sit still.
He now spends his time installing “interruptions” in New York City subway stations. The interruptions “hack” subway ads and add a bit of commentary using cutouts of Trump, Pence and Brett Kavanaugh, among others.
Allen has posted each to his Instagram, complete with location, medium and dimensions. He has done a total of about 150 to date and plans to continue as long as Trump is in office.

This is her first convention, but the miniature Yorkshire Terrier originally found fame on social media.
A video of her dressed in the same Wonder Woman costume was posted to Facebook and shared by Lynda Carter, and the page jumped to more than 46 thousand fans.

Disgraced pudding pop pitchman Bill Cosby finally got his just desserts.
Judge Steven T. O’Neill on Tuesday sentenced the fallen funnyman to three to 10 years in state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Temple University’s woman basketball administrator Andrea Constand nearly 15 years ago. He was escorted from the Montgomery District Courthouse in handcuffs after the judge denied him bail.
“It’s time for justice,” O’Neill said. “Mr. Cosby this has all circled back to you. The time has come.”

Some stars come out to watch, such as the Nets' own Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Isaiah Whitehead, but others, such as Lance Stephenson, actually hit the asphalt.

- A 17-year-old student was taken into custody after a shooting spree inside Santa Fe High School in Texas left at least 10 dead and several more injured.
Authorities said Dimitrios Pagourtzis gunned down nine students and a teacher in a violent rampage at the start of the school day Friday morning. Another 18-year-old student, believed to be a potential accomplice in the attack, was also detained for questioning, a law enforcement official told CNN.
Multiple agencies, including the Santa Fe Police Department, the Galveston County Sheriff's Office and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, responded to the school shortly after the first shots were fired before 8 a.m.
