- This briefing and outlook updates the forecast for strong Santa Ana winds, much cold temperatures in the mountains, and the possible damaging impacts from strong gusty winds including highway travel challenges. The most severe conditions are expected during Tuesday night and Wednesday. Southern California is experiencing one of the driest starts to the rainy season and vegetation is critically dry despite being mid winter.
