Description: A quick developing thunderstorm developed over the Antelope Valley near Lake Los Angeles around 445 pm. This storm slowly moved to the southwest towards Littlerock and then collapsed around 5 pm PDT. The red colors represent values of 50 dbz and over. As the storm collapsed, the heavy rain and small hail fell to the ground accompanied by strong downburst winds of around 50 mph which caused several trees to be knocked over around Ave. T and 90th St. E. near Littlerock.

Description: High surf caused extensive damage to the Ventura Pier on December 11, 2015. The damaged pier was closed for nearly 4 months. The City of Ventura reported the pier lost 20 timber piles and 19 others came loose. The pier also lost about 40 percent of its steel and wooden bracings. The pier was originally built in 1872 and was once the largest wooden pier in the country, at 1,958 feet. The steel and timber pier is now 1,535 feet long. (NOAA video)
