A business mission bringing together more than 30 grain enterprises from Uganda and Kenya is seeking to strengthen formal trade links and unlock greater value along the agricultural supply chain.

Members of the Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals argue that many players in the sector are low-income earners who rely on small-scale enterprises for their livelihoods.
They say the high cost of beauty products and equipment has made it increasingly difficult for practitioners to operate effectively and provide affordable services to their clients.
The group is appealing for government intervention through tax relief measures to support the growth of the beauty industry and protect jobs within the sector.

The UBTS Executive Director says the challenge is being driven by a shortage of regular blood donors and limited funding to support the entire blood collection, testing, and distribution process.
Statistics from UBTS indicate that blood collection has increased over the past three years, rising from 350,000 units to 439,000 units last year. However, officials say the figures remain below the country’s growing demand.
The blood shortage continues to raise concerns about the sustainability of emergency care, surgeries, and other critical medical services that depend on adequate blood supplies.

- Life inside Kampiringisa National Rehabilitation Centre
- Runtime

- Description
- Although crime is very common among adults, it is a public secret that children are also involved in criminal activities, sometimes even committing capital offences such as murder, aggravated robbery, and defilement, among others. Because these children are under the age of 18, although they can be tried in courts of law, they cannot be sent to prison like adult offenders. To address this, the government established a facility where they can be kept and rehabilitated, preventing them from being consumed by a life of crime. This place, Kampiringisa National Rehabilitation Centre, was established in 1952 under the Ordinance Act to cater for boys who needed care and protection, especially those beyond parental control and juvenile delinquents. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition
