- One of Tulsa’s most iconic restaurants just celebrated a major milestone — 100 years in business.
On January 8, 2026, customers lined up at the downtown location of Coney Island Hot Weiners to celebrate the restaurant’s centennial anniversary. Fans came for special deals, commemorative T-shirts, and to honor a place that has been part of Tulsa’s history since 1926.
The restaurant’s story began with Christ Economou, a Greek immigrant who arrived in America through Ellis Island. Inspired by New York’s famous hot dog stands at Coney Island, Economou created his own version and eventually opened dozens of restaurants across the East Coast.
Tulsa became home to store number 27, opening in the basement of the Tulsa World building on January 8, 1926. A century later, the small downtown restaurant is still serving the same style of classic coneys and remains a beloved Tulsa tradition.

- If you’re checking into a hotel or rental home, it can be hard to know whether a hidden camera is watching you — especially since many are disguised as everyday items like speakers, clocks or even USB chargers. News On 6’s Lori Fullbright tested several popular hidden-camera detectors to see how well they actually work in real rooms and real scenarios.
The devices ranged widely in price and in how difficult they were to operate, with some requiring lots of fine-tuning and others working almost immediately. We took all four through the bedroom, bathroom and closet to find out which ones reliably detected our hidden cameras, and which ones struggled or sent false alerts. Here’s how each detector performed.
Hidden Camera Detectors We Tested

- What is a “SNAP error rate?" 🤔
It’s not automatically fraud.
An error can be as simple as forgetting to update your income after starting a new job or not reporting a change in your household. That can lead to an overpayment or underpayment of benefits.
Under the new federal law, states must keep their SNAP error rate at 6% or lower or risk losing funding. Oklahoma’s current rate is 10.87%, and there’s a deadline in October to bring it down.
Why does that matter? Watch the full breakdown on "Your Money Matters" for what this means for Oklahoma families and your wallet.

How the Remains Reached Scotland?
According to Tom Gillingwater, Professor of Anatomy at the University of Edinburgh, the remains were part of a much larger historical collection assembled during the 17th through 19th centuries.

Operation Blunt Force targeted a Chinese-syndicated network led by Hao Chen, accused of orchestrating an estimated $1.5 billion black-market marijuana operation spanning multiple states.
Law enforcement arrested about 20 people and executed roughly 50 search warrants, seizing firearms, cash, and destroying thousands of pounds of illegal marijuana.
Investigators said the group used a straw ownership scheme to fraudulently obtain medical marijuana licenses and divert industrial-scale grows into the black market.
Drummond framed the case as part of a broader crackdown, saying Oklahoma is no longer a safe haven for foreign-backed criminal enterprises and illegal marijuana operations.

- An Oklahoma nonprofit says it lost more than $1 million in federal funding overnight, forcing the WRAP Project to lay off more than two dozen employees and suspend critical services.
The agency, Working to Recover, Assist, and Prevent, operates in Cherokee and Wagoner Counties and helps people with substance abuse recovery, job placement, and court-related support. We break down what the letters say, how many programs could be impacted, and what this means for recovery services across Oklahoma.
