- A juvenile is being treated at Connecticut Children's Medical Center after being pulled from the water at the High Meadow event venue in Granby, according to police.
Officials said a Simsbury police officer working a private detail at the venue helped the juvenile after a reported drowning incident around 2:30 p.m. Their condition has not been released.
Multiple school districts were at the venue, including students from Windham Middle School and Silas Deane Middle School in Wethersfield. Granby officials said several juveniles were overcome with emotion after witnessing the incident, and multiple area ambulance crews responded.
Wethersfield Public Schools said some students witnessed a student experiencing a medical emergency and becoming unresponsive. Crisis support services have been activated for students and families who may need assistance.

But after council members went back and forth, they decided to lower the first offense to $125, with $1,500 for a second offense and $2,000 for a third. Council members also debated the part of the proposal that allowed police to seize the vehicles at their discretion. It was ultimately kept in. The ordinance also stated that any self-propelled snow blower or lawn mower is not considered an ATV or dirt bike.

- Connecticut's wrong-way detection program continues to grow, with the state now operating 211 systems and another 30 expected to come online in the greater Hartford area this month.
