- Road Diaries was a 2002 four-part series in which six Mainers from different backgrounds, ages and hometowns visit various parts of the state. This time we head east. Starting on top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, the gang then tours the old cottages of Bar Harbor. Throughout their trip, they hear classic Maine tales from master storyteller (and series narrator) John McDonald. They spend a lot of time on the water, lobster fishing and sea kayaking off Cutler (where they find some rarely seen petroglyphs on an island) and a visit to a salmon farm off Lubec. On land they check out the Machias Wild Blueberry Festival and then try their hands at blueberry raking at Sanford Kelly's blueberry land in Jonesport.
