“La migra, La migra,” he heard as he walked out. He quickly grabbed his phone and followed agents around the parking lot, telling them they were “f— useless” until he came to a group of them forming a half-circle around a box truck.
A Border Patrol agent radioed someone and then slammed his baton against the passenger window, his video shows. Glass shattered. He unlocked the door as people shouted.

- Department of Homeland Security vehicles with masked agents were stationed Thursday morning outside Dodger Stadium, in another sign of the raids sweeping Southern California.
It is unclear what operation the federal agents were carrying out or whether anyone in the area was arrested. Images of the government vehicles immediately played out on social media and fueled speculation about their activities. The agents declined to say why they were at the stadium when asked by a Times reporter.

- In a televised interview with reporters Monday afternoon eastern time, President Trump suggested that California Gov. Gavin Newsom should be arrested. A reporter first told Trump that Newsom is “daring” border czar Tom Homan to come and arrest him, then asked the president if Homan should “do it.”
The reporter was referencing a Sunday night interview Newsom had done with MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff, where Newsom did, in fact, dare Homan to arrest him.“I would do it if I were Tom,” Trump said, pursing his lips as he appeared to consider the question.
“I think it’s great.”The White House is not actively discussing or planning Newsom’s arrest. But Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, told The Times in an interview Monday that the governor would be vulnerable to charges if he “obstructed” the Trump administration’s efforts.

- Los Angeles ICE raids spark protests, fear, outrage
- Date posted
- Description
- A series of surprise U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweeps in downtown Los Angeles on Friday prompted fierce pushback from elected officials and protesters, who decried the enforcement actions as “cruel and unnecessary” and said they stoked fear in the immigrant community.
Tensions remained high in downtown into the evening. The Los Angeles Police Department declared an unlawful assembly and ordered about 200 protesters who remained gathered by the Los Angeles Federal Building to disperse around 7 p.m.
Forty-four people were administratively arrested and one person was arrested for obstruction during Friday’s immigration action, said Yasmeen Pitts O’Keefe, a spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations, a branch of ICE. Federal agents executed four search warrants related to the suspected harboring of people illegally in the country at three locations in central Los Angeles, she said.

- Kevin Smith's prayers are answered with new 'Dogma' release, this time with less death threats!

- Description
- For more than a quarter century, director Kevin Smith has tried to resurrect “Dogma,” his devoutly religious comedy about two fallen angels looking to get back into heaven. Recently his prayers for the 1999 film were finally answered.
On Friday, the movie will be blessed with a theatrical re-release across 1,500 AMC Theater screens in honor of the film’s 25th anniversary. Technically, the milestone was last year. But when it comes to the second coming of a movie that brought us one of the on-screen pairings of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and an A-list comedic ensemble—including George Carlin, Chris Rock, Janeane Garofalo and Alan Rickman—and the ever-meme-able winking "Buddy Christ"…it still warrants a latent hallelujah.
