- Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has unveiled a proposal to deport foreign national offenders from British prisons if his party comes to power. Farage said offenders could be returned to their countries of origin or sent to third countries, naming Kosovo and El Salvador as possible examples.
Farage said the party would also seek to create 12,000 additional prison places within the first 18 months of a Reform government through temporary “Nightingale” prisons. He argued that dangerous criminals should serve their full sentences and called for life sentences for crimes such as child rape.
The proposals come as Farage highlighted the number of foreign national offenders currently held in British prisons and the cost of accommodating them.
