- The State Law Enforcement Division is taking over the investigation after a man was shot and killed by Berkeley County Sheriff's deputies.
Authorities were responding to a call on Freehold Circle near Goose Creek. They found a person inside a home who had been shot. Once that person was removed and taken to the hospital, another man came into contact with deputies. Sheriff Duane Lewis says that man appeared to be waving a gun.
Three deputies were involved in the incident and did not suffer any injuries.
