This video obtained by the Kyiv Independent was recorded on the Donbas front line in September 2022.
The footage shows Ukrainian soldiers testing a new batch of ammunition. The Finnish 120mm mortar bombs couldn’t be squeezed into the Italian Mod. 63 mortar of the same caliber.
The soldiers had to manually trim them with a grinder so they fit the barrel.

- Explaining Ukraine's 20th-century nationalism is a complicated task.
Nationalism carries many negative associations in Western democracies with fascism. And Ukraine's fight for freedom had several dark pages that must be untangled.
But Ukraine's nationalism is, first and foremost, an expression of the right to self-determination, not a far-right ideology, according to experts and researchers.
In the final episode of Ukraine's True History, we took on the challenge of explaining one of the darkest, most contentious, yet vital aspects of Ukraine's past - the evolution of nationalist movements in the 20th century, which paved Ukraine's way to freedom.
