- An important side story from Super Saturday was the speed at which the vote results were generated. The Guam Election Commission can claim an all-time fastest record of completing the night’s unofficial results at 1:57am Sunday - making this not your father’s election, which tended to see ballot tabulations go well past the sun coming up the next day.
So, the very obvious question for why ballots were tabulated so quickly becomes: WHY?
There are several contributing factors that led to rapid pace, in fact. Foremost is apparent low voter turnout, with the GEC indicating that of Guam's more than 57,000 registered voters, less than 23,000 ballots were cast.
