- The Washington State Ferries (WSF) Summer Reservations System opened on Tuesday, but you will pay more if you pay with a card.
New this summer, WSF passengers using credit or debit cards will now pay a 3% transaction fee, which began March 1.
This fee applies to booking reservations and tickets, including those for the Port Townsend/Coupeville and Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes, for which summer vehicle reservations opened Tuesday.

- Seattle city officials say parts of the structure at Gas Works Park have been deemed hazardous after years of reported injuries and deaths.
The Department of Construction & Inspections sent a hazard protection order to the Department of Parks and Recreation, which lays out which portions of Gas Works Park need to be fixed.
The order cited unsafe conditions on Gas Works’ cracking towers, catwalks, piping, and ladders that have been accessed by people trespassing onto the structure.

- Bellevue Police have arrested three people within the last week believed to be tied to an organized crime ring that targeted the elderly for jewelry and cash.
On April 10th, Bellevue PD’s SWAT and Special Enforcement Team arrested Simona Paun, Maria Alexandra, and Ion Miclescu at a home in Kirkland.
Paun and Miclescu have been charged with theft and robbery for a string of robberies throughout Bellevue and King County.

According to detectives, Ion Miclescu and Simona Paun are part of a larger group that approaches older people who are wearing expensive jewelry and use strong-armed tactics to take the items.
The department says incidents like this have been occurring since the summer of 2024.

- The Lynnwood Police Department released dash camera video a fiery crash, reminding drivers to pay attention when they’re behind the wheel.
In the video, you can see the driver rear-end a car in front of it before leaving the road and smashing into a power pole, starting a fire.
No one was hurt, but the department says the driver admitted to being on their cell phone during the crash.
“Let this be your reminder: whatever is on your phone can wait,” the department said online. “Eyes up. Phone down.”
