But not all Houston drivers seem to understand the purpose of traffic lights on ramps. In a TikTok video posted on May 9 that received more than 200,000 likes, a local motorist captured footage of another driver who had stopped at a red light during traffic.
“Obviously not from Houston,” the caption read. More than 5,000 TikTok users commented on the video. Many defended the driver who stopped at the red light.

The fire appeared to start at the base of the robotic Tyrannosaurus rex shortly before 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 28 before climbing up its body and pulverizing its green synthetic skin, all captured in nearby surveillance footage. The dinosaur was a beloved fixture at the local furniture chain for years, clambering through last year's H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade and most recently greeting drivers as they passed the Gulf Freeway business.
After the Friday blaze, Dina was nothing more than a rusty, metal skeleton.

- Houston-area Muslims say elected Republicans have betrayed tens of thousands of their constituents as GOP politicians use ordinary developments like new halal restaurants or mosques to warn of an “Islamic takeover of Texas” and signal their intent to make the issue a focus of the upcoming legislative session.
Anti-Islamic rhetoric has risen to the top of the GOP platform. This year, U.S. Rep. Troy Nehls in Fort Bend County sponsored the “No Shari’a Act” introduced by U.S. Rep. Keith Self, R-McKinney. The bill would prohibit the application of Sharia law in America, though “Sharia” merely refers to the religious and ethical guidance of Islam and is not codified into any American legal system.
