- The Deputy National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafiu Bala Gombe, on Thursday, declared himself the Interim National Chairman of the party, citing a leadership crisis allegedly engineered by individuals he described as “political hooligans.”

He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently acknowledge the leadership change and uphold the ADC constitution.
He warned that if those behind the crisis failed to comply with constitutional provisions, legal action would be taken.

- Afrobeats superstar Davido says he could walk away from music today and still be set for life—but he’s not going anywhere.
In a candid conversation with top music executive Bankuli following his Toronto stop on the 5Alive Tour, the singer revealed that his love for performing far outweighs the wealth waiting for him outside the spotlight. “I got billions of dollars waiting for me if I don’t work a day in my life today,” he said. “But I love my job. I love music.”
The 32-year-old hitmaker spoke of his early days freestyling in Atlanta for Don Jazzy and Dbanj, reflecting on his journey from hungry teenager to global music force. He recalled driving his father’s Rolls Royce to McDonald’s just to rap in it.
Even with countless hits and sold-out shows across continents, Davido says the best is yet to come. “Most people get their biggest songs early in their career... but more is coming,” he promised.

- The African Democratic Congress (ADC) once stood out as a promising alternative to Nigeria’s dominant parties, attracting people who valued integrity and fresh leadership. But as it now leads a broader coalition ahead of 2027, critics argue it has lost what made it unique.
A former insider lamented that the current coalition lacks the clear principles of the original “Summit of the Alternatives,” which aimed to unite credible voices. With the APC and PDP still firmly in control, there’s growing doubt about whether the ADC-led alliance can truly break the old political order or if it’s become just another familiar face in a crowded field.
