- KERRVILLE, Texas — The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed two more cases of the destructive New World screwworm parasite in Texas on Monday, demonstrating the difficulty of stopping a pest that could potentially devastate the nation's cattle industry.
The new cases were found in a calf and a dog, located hundreds of miles apart in La Salle and Andrews counties. The discoveries bring the total number of confirmed Texas cases to four. The screwworm was first discovered in a 3-week-old calf last week, and a second case was found only miles away in another young calf.
A veterinarian in Andrews County submitted the samples from the infested dog. Early reports indicate the dog had recently been in Mexico with its owners.

- The New York Knicks made a record comeback from 29 points down and moved to the brink of their first championship since 1973 by beating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 on Wednesday night.
OG Anunoby tipped in the miss of Jalen Brunson's long 3-point attempt with 1.2 seconds remaining to complete the rally, giving the Knicks a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals and three chances to win the title.
It looked impossible early, when the Spurs rolled to a 27-point halftime lead. But Brunson helped bring the Knicks back with 36 points and Anunoby finished with 33.
Game 5 is Saturday night in San Antonio.
No team had come from more than 24 points down in a finals game, when Boston did it against the Lakers in 2008, since the NBA began keeping detailed play-by-play for all four quarters in 1997. The Spurs led 81-52 in the third quarter.

- WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump warned Wednesday morning on social media that Iran “will have to pay the price” after Tehran allegedly shot down a U.S. Army Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz, escalating an already volatile military confrontation between the two countries.
Speaking from the Oval Office later in the day, Trump signaled that additional U.S. military action could be imminent.
“We’re going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard,” Trump said. “We hit them hard yesterday. We’re going to hit them hard again today.”
The latest escalation began Monday when an American Apache helicopter went down while operating near the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Iran “shot down” the aircraft, while a U.S. official later said an Iranian drone collided with the helicopter, causing it to crash.

On the morning of the game, the facility held a pep rally that included a parade outside the front doors. Residents rode in hand-decorated cars as horns blared, creating a scene reminiscent of cruising through downtown after a Spurs victory. Music played, fans cheered, and residents smiled as they showed support for the Silver and Black ahead of the matchup.
Residents and staff wore Spurs gear and joined in the excitement.

For Burcham, serving as student council president meant leading with school spirit and helping create a welcoming environment for her classmates.
“I’ve heard from teachers, students, like everyone say how this year’s school spirit was at an all-time high,” Burcham said.

- Police in Ohio are searching for suspects who opened fire near a street festival on Saturday, injuring 12 people.
The Toledo Police Department said officers responded at 5:37 p.m. to reports of a shooting near the Old West End Festival in the area of Delaware and Glenwood avenues.
When officers arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.

- A watch party for Game 3 of the NBA Finals outside Madison Square Garden (MSG) on Monday has been canceled as security ramps up ahead of President Donald Trump's attendance.
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced the precautions being taken as the Secret Service prepares for Trump's visit to MSG. The Knicks lead the series 2-0 and are two wins away from their first championship in more than 50 years.
The NYPD will establish a security perimeter from West 30th Street to West 35th Street between Sixth and Eighth Avenues. Beginning at 4 p.m., Seventh and Eighth avenues within that area will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
